Both are served every 20 minutes by the Munich S-Bahn line S6 (Tutzing – Starnberg – München – Ebersberg), which continues along the west shore to Possenhofen, Feldafing and Tutzing. Regional trains to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Kochel am See and Penzberg stop at Starnberg about once an hour.
