Practical Starnberg

Transport, public services and useful numbers, for visitors and for people who live here.

Getting here

Starnberg is 25 km south-west of Munich: the S6 S-Bahn every 20 minutes (about 40 minutes from Marienplatz), regional trains, Munich Airport 66 km away and the A95 motorway.

Getting around

The town centre and the lakeshore are best on foot. MVV regional buses serve the villages, and from April to mid-October the lake boats link the shores.
